How goes it? I work for a company that builds mono-clave sterilizers. We sell to all types of medical facilities that include laboratories, hospitals, clinics and MANY universities. The writing is on the wall with my employer...sales are way down with nothing big on the horizon. A few layoffs have already happened and then today we just got a memo about all wages/salaries for 2009 being froze at the 2008 rate and that the company would suspend their matching 401k contributions. After the 1st qtr it looks very lean. Who knows what the future holds but for right now we are holding our breath and hoping our sales team can pull through. Very few jobs are recession proof....how is yours?

I work for the local county government in the elections department. I'm pretty safe unless they cut elections....which I doubt.

Law and my wife's a pediatric nurse.

Recession proof? Nah, not quite; but we're about as close as they get.

I'm a contract IT trainer. Things are already very slow with little improvement in sight.

I'm awesome.

It has really put a strain on the bar business.

it's been hard for comedy and improv

I get 3-4 emails a day and about 5 phone calls a week from recruiters wanting to talk to me about jobs. No recession in my neck of the woods.

I'm an Engineer working in the Aerospace industry. While Aerospace companies as a whole are hurting some, especially the commercial side, the workload for what my department does hasn't changed much and is increasing.

Regardless, I'm awesome. :D
