HERM COULD BE HEADING TO TV

When Herman Edwards was fired by the Chiefs on Friday, he said he was going to choose between working as a defensive backs coach, taking time off or trying his hand as a TV analyst. It looks like the bright lights of television have won out.

Adam Schefter reports that there is mutual interest between networks and Edwards, and all signs are that he’ll be spending the 2009 season in front of the camera.

It seems like the right move for Edwards at this point. He’s a good talker with strong opinions and he’ll have producers helping him with clock management. A third shot as a head coach may not be in the cards for Edwards, but if he does well on TV he could find himself in the mix at some point down the road.

I don't understand why anyone would want him. I hate his manner of speaking....maybe I'm weird, but he always sounds dumb to me.

Hes made for some interesting sound bytes over the years.

This would probably work out well for him.

The guy LOVES to talk, he can be the next Shannon Sharpe on tv.

I don't see how doing well on TV merits one a head coaching job.

It's done wonders for Jim Fassell.

At least you can make out what Herm is saying. He may say some stupid off the wall things, but he can enunciate.

I figured this was coming. TV and Herm Edwards are the perfect marriage.

"RUMOR"

Chris Mortenson of ESPN vehemently denies there has been any contact with Herm "****ing" Edwards with the networks, will never BE any contact, and definately will NOT be spending time in front of the camera. :shake:

:D

hes fine for TV. makes silly comments and faces. i'm sure hes a nice guy, and i wish hime well. just glad he doesn't roam the sidelines of arrowhead anymore. he can't be worse than boomer, that guy is an idiot.

Hammock Parties 01-28-2009 10:28 AM

I hope he hides on NFL Network. No one watches that shit. Please stay off of CBS, Herm.

we wasted 3 years on a tv personality

talastan 01-28-2009 10:31 AM

I agree this is probably the best job for Herm. He loves to talk football and you can actually understand what he is saying unlike Thannon Tharpe.
