What does everyone think of supporter powers?
 

To add some background supporters pay $10 a month and they get the ability to issue infractions or warnings and if the person gets enough of infractions he gets temp ban for a day or 2.

Some of the people in DC are upset that shtsprayer got temp banned because of some comments he made and believe that supporter powers are too strong.

On the flip side DaFace made a good point yesterday that if it wasn't for the few of us supporters Malboro Chief would have posted a ton of porn yesterday but we were able to ban him almost immediately.

So what does everyone think? Good idea, bad idea?

It wasn't so much the banning as the attitude of; I can do it, I did it, I have my reasons, I don't care what you think.

A monthly charge? I don't know about that. I would make it so that you had to donate a certain amount....if you want to set a limit on it. But requiring people to pay $10 a month just to have the ability to flag people....may make it so that they use their powers more often than not.

In all honesty, I don't think there is anything wrong with them.

If you support the website, then you obviously enjoy your time here. I don't think anyone who just wanted to abuse the powers would waste money just so they could **** w/ people.

I have donated twice and do not have powers. I'm not whining but I have an urge to hand out infractions. :evil:

P.S., I don't think you have to pay $10 a month.

I think I donated $20 a few months ago and $5 last month.

The minimum is $10 a month

You can go to User CP and Paid Subscriptions and it says 1 month $10

I just clicked the Donate button at the top.

I did $20 in Nov, $5 in Dec.

I'm going to donate another $10 right now. Hopefully the donations help offset the cost of running the board.
