Have you ever had to call 911? With Poll (sorry no Gaz option)
 

So taking the wife to work at 5:30 this morning, a few mins into the drive I glanced in the rear view and thought I saw something. A split second later I realized what it was, a car with no lights on going WAY too fast in my lane. Had I not swerved into the other lane we would have met in my back seat. About ¼ mile down the road the light turns red and the asshat has to lock his brakes to make the stop (As much as I wanted to jump out of the car and choke a bitch I didn’t). The light turned green and the douche just stayed there, now I’m thinking WTF is wrong with this guy then I see him driving in the classis W pattern, yup a drunk mofo. Ive seen people that looked “tipsy” but never as JA as this cat on the road.

I really didn’t know what to do but I didn’t want this JA to kill someone so I called 911. Just dialing it gave me a strange feeling, talking to the operator everything about it, even looking at my phone now seeing 911 is weird. This was the first time I’ve ever had to use 911 and hopefully the last It had me wondering how many of you have had to do it and what was the reason?

But I've called 411 before.

Lots. 20+ times probably.

When I was in college I worked for the intramural dept. and every time there was an injury that the participant wanted medical attention on we had to call 911. Was always overkill, you can specifically tell them you only need an ambulance but they still send police, fire, fire rescue, and an ambulance. Half the time the people didn't even get in the ambulance because someone watching would tell them if you go anywhere with them it costs a ton in bills.

I've called it by mistake. Dialing a 913 number and double clutched on the 1... (I guess)

I did it a few times as a prank when I was a little kid, but I stopped once the cops actually came to my house one time.

Haven't yet had to call 911 for the family, but I've placed or directed numerous 911 calls to be placed from churches.

I call it, at least, twice a month. But that's because I work for the phone company and have to make test calls periodically. I'm now on a first name basis with the call center :)

I was driving to college one time and my friends and I were in my car on the other side of the road. Lightning struck a telephone pole, and it cam crashing down in the street and a car on the other side of the road smashed right into it and caught fire.

One of my friends got out and dragged dude out of the car, and me and my other friend drove back to a gas station to call 911. I don't think anyone even stopped to think about how we were reacting, we just all realized we needed to do something and started to do it.

Called it once when my sister-in-law starting having a seizure. Freaked me the hell out.

Once in Kansas.My friend and I were driving home from the casino and came upon a girl passed out drunk at a red light!! Also in LA. while taking my mom to a Dr. appt. a man was driving very erratically at a very early hour in the morning. I found out later he was arrested for drunk driving.

I did this. Cops came to the door. I'm more careful now.

Couple of times, never to snitch though.
