Did the Pioli hiring change your views on the draft?

Did the Pioli hiring change your views on the draft? I think he changed mine. I've got players I like, but if we don't take them or take headscratchers, I won't get pissed. Pioli, so far, has my trust. I'm putting a little less emphasis on draft analysis and just boning up on who we might get.

It honestly feels really different now that we don't have Epic Fail in the front office and hopefully don't have to second guess his WTF choices.

What do you guys think?

No, I'll always have my personal views on the draft.

The Pats don't have a good enough draft record over the past 4 years to justify giving Pioli and co complete faith.

Since neither Pioli or Haley were not my first choice in their respective positions, I am not as willing as some others to simply give them a free pass, and like mecca, I still have my own opinions on the draft.

Yeah, that kind of bothers me. Kind of like smelling a fart in a business meeting, you try and pretend to not notice.

You guys are right, and they have had some serious WTF decisions. But they always seem to field a good team.

My original thought on him was that given the patriots success, I would give him a free pass for a year or two (in terms of wins) UNLESS he kept Herm. Then all slack was gone and they better start kicking ass and taking names immediately.

He's done the major part of shitcanning Squirmin Herman, so I guess I'm content with just sitting back and seeing what he can do.

The Patriots made a lot of moves that I wouldn't, but a lot of them seemed to work out. We'll see how he does with the Chiefs.

I have my own opinions of the draft, but I'm also not naive enough to think I know who fits the system we are trying to implement more than Pioli does.

I have my players that I like and will continue to follow after they are drafted, but I am essentially giving Pioli a free pass this year and probably another year or two before I start criticizing too much.

Yes, it does. While I'll also have my own views on players, I'm going to be a lot more prone to give benefit of the doubt to the new front office than I would have the old. Carl and friends demonstrated for more than a decade they had no idea what they were doing, whereas the new guys have a clean slate.

Hard to criticize any draft choices they make when nobody knows exactly what type of offense or defense KC will be running.

These.

chiefs1111 02-14-2009 05:17 PM

well im just glad Herm and Carl are gone cause they would have done something stupid with the 3rd pick like draft a kicker from UCLA or something like that.
