New Printer! (holy crap)
A little under a year ago, I went from using a 10+ year old 4:3 19" monitor running on an ATI-X800 video card to a 22" widescreen running on an nvidia 9600 GT.
I thought that was a pretty big upgrade at the time. Well, this morning I went from using a 10+ year old Epson color 640 inkjet printer to a new Samsung ML-2510 laser printer (well, relatively new, the model's a couple years old...). The new printer is roughly five times as fast as the old one (640 was 5 ppm/3.5 color; 2510 is 24 ppm) I did a double-take the first time the damn thing ran. It's like the friggin' magic of fire to a stone-age man. Christ. Why didn't I do this years ago? |
I can hear your boner.

I'm so there. |
You've managed to get the words boner and fluffing in a thread about a laser printer.
That's talent. |
The only problem about laser printers is the replacement toner costs almost as much as the damn printer!

Have you checked into these cool things called CD Drives yet? Check it out, youll love it! You might even feel the need to get rid of your 3.5 inch floppy drive. |
Can it make chicken salad out of chicken sh....
ah, never mind...I misunderstood the thread. |

I heard those Epsons get really poor ink mileage.

I just happened to be on buy.com looking over bluetooths and found the laser I bought for $119, with a $70 rebate from samsung. So if I get OEM toner instead of the generic refurb shit, it may actually cost more than the printer. But I shouldn't have to buy it anywhere close to as often as I had to buy ink. It's monochrome, but I hardly ever printed in color anyway so I don't miss that. |
