Really bad sarcasm on the tax payer's dime
I'm a regular at a Wichita Falls(TX)-based community message board. Another member posted a
copy of a mass-produced letter to a student of the Holliday, TX school district. It took me a minute to realize what exactly this form is saying. This one of those "what the hell?" moments at the tax-payers expense. This is sarcasm gone woefully wrong. here's a link to the topic on the Wichita Falls message board. http://wfallstalk.6.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2132 not only did someone within the administration create this, but other administrators are allowing this! |

:spock: Grounds for Jim Davis filing a lawsuit? |
First thing that came to mind is that this belongs in one of those FAIL pictures...

I don't know which is more pathetic: that it took you a whole minute to figure out what that form means, or that you thought this was interesting enough to post an entire thread about it.

And another thing, WTF does "the taxpayer's dime" have to do with this? Usuallly when someone uses that term, "the taxpayer's dime" is a sort of synecdoche for a large amount of money, and thus criticizes supposed government waste.
Here, it is doubtful that the offending form cost much more than a dime. I've never actually seen somebody complain about the literal waste of a taxpayer's dime. You should be congratulated, I suppose, on your uniqueness. |

It's clear that the good people of Wichita Falls aren't the "main street" americans struggling through a financial crisis that we keep hearing about, at least not the ones on that forum. If they were, they'd have a hellava lot more to keep them busy than getting their knickers in a knot over this.
I've seen evidence of pussification on internet forums but this must almost take the cake. |
Just wondering...which hurt the kid more: the "note" home or the cheese sandwich for lunch?
