Stress Fracture
Just got back from the doc, I've got a stress fracture in my second metatarsal. It had been bothering me for about 3 weeks and after the meet this weekend I couldn't really walk on it at all.
Aside from the normal stuff, stay off it, ice etc. does anyone have any advice? The doc said it will take about 6-8 weeks but I'd like to get back in time for the last few meets of the outdoor season. Bah, I'm really frustrated right now and any help would be appreciated. |
It takes a LONG time to heal, this is something you CAN NOT push.

I'm afraid we're going to have to shoot you.
Is a metatarsal in the hand or the foot? |
Keep it immobilized and don't use it. I broke my collar bone two and half weeks ago it and it's the only thing that helps it heal quickly. Every time you use that stress fracture flexes - it's like tearing off a scab over and over.

Suck dude. Don't push it. You have to let it heal completely or it won't ever get better.

The only thing I've heard that words on stress fractures is antifreeze, dude.
