Torry Holt

I have heard rumors that the Rams are going to let him go. Anyone else know any more details? If they do let him go we need to jump on him. He still has some gas left in the tank and it would be great to have Cassel throwing to Bowe, TGonz, Bradley, and Holt. With a spread offense that would be AWESOME!!!!

I've always liked him as a Wr. He slowed down a lot though last season, partially because of his injury. If he's back to form he's a top 10 WR in the NFL easily. I'd take him.

When this team is ready to compete for a SB, if ever, what does Torry Holt do to help them?

RustShack 03-10-2009 12:40 PM

We are going to be stacked at WR with Bowe, Crabtree, Holt, Bradley.

Same thing Engram would.

Holt gives us another option to throw to. And would help to stop teams from double teaming DBowe and TGonz. Plus if we end up trading TGonz we need another go to guy. We have the cap room to bring in a guy like this. Why not?

Catch passes. Are you familiar with how football works?

ChiefRon 03-10-2009 01:03 PM

It's nice to fantasize about big-name players.

But let's face it, this is only a pipe dream.

I doubt he has any interest in coming here, and I doubt Pioli would pay him what he wants.

I do expect us to sign another wideout, but more likely it will fit closer to the mold of CJ Jones instead of the Torry Holt mold.

Torry Holt's not going to be in the league in three years.

beach tribe 03-10-2009 01:07 PM

Nah. He'll be very expensive, and I think he's about done. By 2010 he'll be useless, and we'd probably have to cut him, and take a cap hit. That reminds me, these assholes better get this CBA shit fixed. The salary cap is one of football's best assets. That siad they should Cap these friggin rookies.

DeezNutz 03-10-2009 01:08 PM

It would be awesome if we could sign Holt and then trade for McNabb. Then, we could all close our eyes and pretend really, really, really hard that it's 7 years ago.

It could work...

Absolutely, and fast.

He's 32 years old, and has an arthritic knee.

Money is just one of the reasons the Rams are looking to release him.
