I need a good DVD decoder for Windows Media Player

Anyone have a suggestion for something FREE?

I can't seem to find something, and I'm sick and tired of PowerDVD.

Are you insistent on WMP?

Because.... http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ blows that out of the water....

Oddly, I was really looking for something that would allow me to "repeat" a DVD chapter. Is that available on videolan?

I'm not sure about repeating chapters specifically, but I know VLC does have a loop function in which you can set loop points however you like. Meaning you click the Loop button once to set loop point A, and then click it again to set loop point B. Then it will loop from point A to point B continuously. I'm thinking that would probably work for what you're needing it for. You can set the loop points wherever you like throughout the video or DVD. Simply turn on Advanced Controls, and the loop button will show up beside the rest of the controls...

I prefer PowerDVD over WMP, but VLC is better than both. It can play almost any file format.
