mysql slow on lan, fast on wan
 

I connecting to a local linux server that is hosting a website. If I connect directly to mysql database using the server the website loads super quick.

If I connect through the internet to the server and mysql, it loads super quick.

If I connect from another computer running xp pro in the same lan, it is slow. But only the mysql db site is slow. Html pages, images, etc are super quick.

Any ideas?
