Just curious to see how he's done in the second round previously.

go to allthingsbillbelichick.com and check out the "draft" tab or whatever it is on the left. You'll get every draft BB was ever involved in. Not sure how relevant any pre-Patriots draft would be.

In general, it's been hit and miss in the 2nd round. Deion Branch and Eugene Wilson were very good picks. Bethel Johnson and Chad Jackson not so much.

Cassel and Vrabel for the Chiefs is the only 2nd rounder he is responsible for. I don't get how he was responsible for anything in NE. He wasn't the GM and BB called the shots for the most part.

According to a few books they call him the New England Patriot's GM

Thank you. Do you think we'll see any patterns carry over from his days with the Pats? Also, if you had to guess, how much input is he going to allow Haley?

They will work together and most likely agree on most picks with Pioli having final say. From what I've heard, In NE it was basically the same thing with BB having final say. Higher rounds will lean more with Pioli and later rounds will be more about giving in to Haley, but they will both pretty much agree on all evaluations just have different choices on who the pick should be.

Look for the traditional notion of "value" to change a bit. It'll likely be more team specific, and it will incorporate need as a factor.

Expect Haley to have a lot of input in future seasons. My guess is that his input may be less this year depending upon how much he got to look at the prospects given the late nature of his arrival.

The Patriots pattern seems to be to use the second round as much more of a gambling round than round 1. It won't surprise me to see the Chiefs (and Broncos) to take a similar approach.

Nope BB had that, but he wasn't labeled as the GM either IIRC. Pioli was Director of Player Personnel, but worked with BB as a GM would BB just had final say.

I feel the same way when someone mentions "Haley's offense." Was it really his after only two seasons? The weapons dictated what his offense was going to be. Most of those were already there.

Hmmm...Terrence Wheatley, Chad Jackson, Marquise Hill, Eugene Wilson, Bethel Johnson & Deion Branch. Not sure what to make of that.

Not that I've ever read. Belichick is the GM of that team. Pioli was the talent finder.
