I got a job!

Got hired yesterday by a school district who is going to let me work while doing my student teaching. I am very fortunate because there are a ton of people who are graduating this May who cannot find a job. Getting paid to student teach, not very many people ever get that opportunity, especially now. This takes a ton of stress off my wife and I. God does wonderful things if you work hard and ask for it.

Congrats man! It's good to hear things like this!

Good for you, man. Congratulations.

Indeed this is true.

Good luck.

Congrats, man! This may cut into the amount of time you're able to post on the Planet. You may not be able to post once every 8 days now.

Your right, I guess I'll have to go back to just reading.

Great job! A word of advise. Don't let student teaching or your first year or two throw you. Teaching is harder than most people think! While you had a personal interest in learning, it is sometimes hard to transfer your love for the subject matter to your students. Nevertheless, through experience, you will gain techniques that will make it easier each year. Handle your own discipline whenever possible. The front office doesn't like it when a teacher is constantly sending students. The front office doesn't like roudy classrooms either. Seating charts, while old fashioned, work. Yeah, I know, some will say it stifles the student's free choice and creativity. Nevertheless, it helps you to learn all the student names/characteristics and to maintain classroom control. Finally, don't be "snowed" by the students. They don't all really have to use the restroom at the same time.

Good luck!

Remember to put CP on work mode so the kiddies don't see the Hotties thread.
