Allergies

This time of year, to go along with Autumn, is probably my favorite. It's great to see everything coming back to life, smell the fresh cut grass, and firing up the grill. But, without fail, I get laid out with these stupid freaking allegies. It's bad. I wake up so congested I feel like I'm coming off a two and a half day bender.

What do those of you who suffer through this do for your allegies?

Buck 04-23-2009 11:03 AM

Claritin works very well for me.

Yeah, prescription strength Claritin is like the one thing that I've used that keeps my nose dry and my sinuses open. I may have to get a new prescription.

I didn't think you would suffer from allergies in the Whale's Vagina?

Donger 04-23-2009 11:06 AM

I don't believe in allergies.

Demonpenz 04-23-2009 11:07 AM

What?

We don't really have a winter here, so plants are in bloom year round. Pollen is always in the air. You'd probably hate it here.

Eh, good point. I've heard that living next to the sea helps with allergies, or somesuch.

Well, it's not like I've never traded one problem from another....

I used to have bad allergies. I got tested for what I was allergic too and went on a weekly regiment of anti allergy shots for 2 months. No more allergies.

Claritin D, regular Claritin doesn't do shit for me. Plus if you can get enough of it you can make meth out of it.

I go on a two and a half day bender.

Lately, mine are pretty tame. But the one thing that used to always help me was Sudafed. Although, it also made me feel like I was on edge constantly.

It's the half day that really makes the difference, I hear.

I got them. They blow. I'm mother****ing allergic to everything. I get them in the winter because I'm allergic to dust mites, mold spores, and every imaginable thing that could be in your vent.

Claratin doesn't do a ****ing thing for me. I tried Clarinex (presciption 30% more concentrated ingredient as Claratin), suck. Allegra works OK, Benedryll works, I think, but I just freaking pass out so I don't really know.

What has worked the best for me is Zrytec. They make a Zyrtec D (plus pseudophed) that you have to go to the counter to get because you look like a meth head. That's my suggestion.

My dad said Flonaise (I think it is still prescription) and got good results.

If you have asthma, singulair can be used as a different sort of antihistamine. It doesn't work the same way as the other drugs, but it is supposed to be good. Doesn't do shit for me.

Best of luck. Allergies are shit ass

Never had any problems in either L.A. or PHX., come to Waterloo and my nose feels like it's itchy and my eyes water so much people are going to start thinking I'm female.
