Heh, my son's cell phone went through the washer....
 

And after taking the battery out and laying both it and the phone (open) on a plate covered with cat litter it still works.

He's only had it 5 months and I was figuring we'd have to buy a new one. What a great day.

Well you're problem seems to be attempting to clean a cell phone with batter.

Some day you'll need reading glasses to type and I hope I'm still around. :D

Rice works well for this, too.

Yup. Left my phone out in the rain Thanksgiving weekend. Took it apart, vacuumed out the water droplets and put it in a bowl of rice overnight and it worked good-as-new the next day.

Moral of the story ask on the planet first.

Now I own a bag of cat littler AND a cat.

I almost never wash my cell phone.

I don't know any people your age that have a cell phone.

I just helped my 74 year old buddy get one.
