F*****G Ticketmaster

So today my friend and I try to buy Tool tickets for the show at Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie and it's the usual bs. My friend can't get in and then it took me 4 tries to get pit tickets. We needed 7 tickets but I could only cover 3 so my friend was going to grab the other 4. Luckily I got in when I did because at 10:07 the show was sold out (went on sale at 10) and then pit tickets were posted on stub hub for $542.

On top of all that there were an additional $17.25 in additional fees so an $80 ticket jumped to $97 and then there was another $5 service charge for the overall order. Goddamn 20% of face value fees and 17.7% of total purchase was fees. **** TICKETMASTER!

IIRC Didn't they get in trouble for exorbitant fees before?

So you have solution other than not going?

I remember when Pearl Jam cancelled the last half of a tour because ticketmaster was assraping their fans.

I had to buy one extra ticket for the Tech N9ne concert yesterday.

It said $20. Then there was an $8.95 fee + $3 Convenience Fee.

So I told my buddy I was buying it for that it was $32 instead of $20 like I told him, he said okay.

Then I go to checkout and they added another $5 for a service charge and charged me and extra $2.50 just to print the ticket!

So after all was said and done, the $20 Ticket cost me $40.

Thats such bullshit.

I agree that Ticketmaster's CEO is lord satan himself....

With that said, NEVER wait until the day tix go on sale.....Pre-sale my friend is the way to go...

Either:

A) Go to the band's website and sign-up for the fan club (that usually gets you a pre-sale code)

OR

B) I've used this website a couple times - well worth the extra 4 bucks to get good tix

Yea, I usually go for the pre-sales too. You can google the name and find the password most times. This show didn't have any presale though. I get emails from all the local venues, ticketmaster, and another ticketing service and this show was announced this week and went on sale today.

Convenience fee?? But that's not convenient for me at all....

Tool is touring again? I knew they were going to be at Lollapalooza in Chicago, but didn't know they were playing anywhere else.

My policy is to never use Ticketmaster. My little form of protest. Too bad I can't get more people to protest with me but as the great P.T. Barnum is rumored to have once said ...

"There's a sucker born every minute"

Whew, and I was almost afraid that you would come up with something helpful. Okay, really, I wasn't, not even a little bit, but where is the fun in that. I was on the swim team, so I know how to swim, tyvm.
