I know that CP is usually great for advice…so for the first time here I am asking.

My friends and I are usually good for a solid session of ripping on one another. It’s constant, really, but nobody takes it too personally and we all genuinely care for each other's company and well being. But friendly banter is where it should end, IMO. Well two of my best friends who come over to my apartment a lot think it’s funny to **** with me. Basically, they like getting a reaction out of me. Usually it’s something lame, but they still get under my skin because I hate pranks. I don’t do pranks and they really piss me off. I don’t like chairs pulled from underneath me and I don’t like my room to be ****ed with. Somehow my reaction to pranks must be really funny because they **** with my room a lot. From hiding my laptop to moving furniture they’ve usually managed to piss me off without really going over the line. I let them know that they are disrespecting me, but I usually just leave it alone and they certainly don’t take me seriously. I’ve never wanted to blow things out of proportion. However, now I think they’ve crossed the line. I got word from my roommate today that my room has been painted pink and that there are stickers of dolphins ****ing placed all over my walls. I’ve been visiting my parents for the last week and I know that these two guys are involved and possibly one of my other roommates. It’s worthless to lock my room because a simple library card will get you in. These guys won’t buy beer unless it’s a 6-pack for themselves and consistently drink everyone else’s beer but they go out and buy paint to do this….it’s unreal to me. Really these are the cheapest bastards alive so I know they painted my room with the lowest quality available. If I’m going to have a pink room I’d at least like to enjoy a solid paint job. My first reaction was to get serious with them and let them know how pissed I am. I’m to the point where I would have no problems getting physical if they had a serious case of smart mouth. However, I think that may be an overreaction. I also don’t want to engage in a prank war because I will inevitably lose because I don’t exactly thrive on that type of shit. I was thinking maybe of going up early without them knowing and repainting the room on my own dollar and just ignoring them--- pretending it never happened. While Im sure this would infuriate them, Im not so sure they would stop pranking until I boiled over. Overall, how do I deal with this situation? I feel like I have been disrespected but maybe I’m just being an oversensitive, thin-skinned pussy. Is this a harmless joke that I should just roll with? I’m pretty positive that they will paint my room back without much trouble…but who knows. You can’t say get new friends because I’ve only got a handful of good ones and they also happen to be friends with my roommates.

Being that you're not one to exact revenge, I would just ignore it. Paint over it, act like nothing ever happened, and I'm sure it will piss them off more. Don't mention it, and if they do just blow it off. Hopefully they get the hint.

Either that or just confront them about it. Let them know that it's gone too far and you really don't appreciate it.

Give one of them a left hook to the chin, and the other a swift kick in the sack.

They'll leave you alone after that.

I good prank that is always sure to get some laughs, is to hook up some C4 to the ignition system of their car. :)

I think his friend's need to pony up and pay to repaint the room. What kind of friends keep doing stupid shit like this after you've asked them not to? I'm guessing these are college aged kids. Hopefully they grow out of it, and patience with them will pay off. Somehow, even if they stop doing the pranks, they are the type that will give the guy shit over it for the rest of his life.

In this case, I would paint the room either on their dime or deny them beer until the cost has been recouped, or get new friends.

I don't even believe it. They're ****ing with you. Otherwise they wouldn't have mentioned it at all. But, if they continuously do shit against your wishes, you need to find new friends. Birds of a feather flock together.

Prank them hard, Give them a prank so extreme and painful that they decide they don't want to prank you anymore.

I'm glad I'm a chick. I'd much rather deal with female friends stealing my boyfriends (yes, I had them when I was younger), competing for attention, etc than to have someone mess with my stuff.

Seriously dude, You need to make a stand and deal with these MF'rs - friends or not.

I'm not condoning this, but if I were you, I'd invite these guys to a bonfire. Tell them you are buying the beer and the grub. Pile up all of their clothes and all their electronic shit and burn it at the bonfire before they get there. Let those asswipes know who they are ****ing with. I'd pack a weapon as well, but that's just me.

the roommate who wasn't involved was the guy who informed me. I believe it. Im pretty much over being pissed...and since they don't know that I know, it will make revenge much sweeter. Im going to repaint it before they even know Im in town and maybe get them back in another way. Ill deny everything saying that I was home....hopefully I can convince my roomies to vouch for me. Now I need to find out from my insiders who exactly was involved.
