Every now and again when they sell out of the Gold Box Item, they switch it to something different.

Maybe now they can sell a bunch of refurb 360s that had the RROD.

In a few months it will probably be $300 anyways, after the way overpriced PSP Go comes out to try and offset a PS3 price cut.

If it doesn't drop in price, it will probably still be 'the superior console you wish more of your friends had so you have people to play it with'.

We've heard that rumor for years.

They really can't not cut the price, there aren't many (successful) consoles that just sit on their hands while they sell signifigantly less than they did the year prior. They've had to sit tight for now because of how strong the Yen has been against the Dollar.

They are still losing like $40 on each console even with selling them at $400.
