I did a tandem jump once from 12,000 ft. That was enough for me. I had never been in an airplane until then.

Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

Practice.

You don't want your first jump to be out of a airplane going down.

It's a bitch when they open the door and you look all the way down, eh? Pure adrenaline.

And congrats on your jump. That's a kind of rush you just can't find many other places....

Bugeater 07-25-2009 08:18 PM

You got balls dude, I don't think I could ever do that.

!!!!!!

I froze up for a second, the guy was like alright joe you need to loosen up a bit. But once you submit to the fall and get your breathing under control its the best feeling in the world. I didnt anticipate how LOUD it was while free falling, just never crossed my mind.

How much was it? And what "training" did you have before, if you don't mind me asking.

I'd love to do it.

But then again I'm only married and don't have kids.

It was a tandem jump, it ran me $200. Its an additional $90 for the DVD and photos which I passed on this time. We had a $30 discount for being students. The GF got the whole package for $260. Then a few more bucks for beer :D

The training was very thorough just kind of fast paced. I had a few things I needed to go over afterward. All the "jump" consisted of was a three step motion of ready, set, jump. After you exit you just put your arms out and legs out, toes to the sky. Thats it, during the fall they show you how to spin and what not.

The best part to me was right when the shoot was deployed how quiet and relaxing it actually was, I just took a deep breath and took it all in. They let you control the shoot also, they showed me how to turn and before we landed we were doing death spirals :) But you can just float down calmly too.

Believe it or not I felt more safe than I have on many roller coasters. I asked the guys about bungee jumping and they were terrified ROFL. The guy was like "I came into this world because of a broken rubber, I dont wanna leave because of one." I understand you have a family but I honestly feel its something everyone needs to do once.

She looked down and just about p00p3d herself, but the teacher picked her chin up and said look pretty for the camera and then jumped lol. Perfect way to distract a girl from whats going on.
