How much did Tyson Jackson play in the game?

Someone said he didn't play too much.

DeezNutz 09-14-2009 10:06 PM

Who?

He split snaps with Gilberry from what I saw.

He was kinda "meh."

DeezNutz 09-14-2009 10:07 PM

He was invisible. The only play you could even notice his presence is when Ray Rice blew around him on the possession that led to Balt's go ahead TD.

First game as a pro, long way to go.

I blame Glen Dorsey. If he would line up every play of every game and get after it like he wants to be a pro, this rookie and former teammate would follow his lead and not slide so easily into his bust jacket.

Yeah I almost gif'd that up, but decided not to.

Not really his fault. Leggett blew that tackle.

Jackson did an OK job of forcing the play outside.

/reach.

True. But in his defense, he was playing a lot of 5-technique, 2-gap. His job is to open up holes for the LBs. And we just don't have anybody that can get around that edge. I thought Vrabel looked horrendous on Sunday--he's lost more than a few steps.

We have to think of Vrabel as a leader and not a football player, because he's not really the latter any more.

Dorsey played alot of 2-gap too.

The defensive line in 2-gap isn't supposed to be visible. They're supposed to free up the LB's to make plays.

We just don't have an LB's that are worth a crap.

Yep. The problem is that right now he's our best, most-consistent football player at the LB level.

Would it kill one of the DL to get just a little bit of pressure on the QB after 6 seconds?

Micjones 09-15-2009 08:46 AM

Not this shit again.
:banghead:

Yeah, if they're getting double-teamed it actually would. Jackson was double-teamed all the time, even in preseason.

Because nobody respects Tank or Edwards.

And when we go 3-down, 2-gap, they double Dorsey too because it's 5 on 3.

It's very simple. Our LINEBACKERS have to make plays, and they're just obviously just not athletically capable of doing so.
