Hey Admins, If you had to recreate CP, how many hours would you bid?
 

I showed the CEO of a large retail chain the CP and now he wants one built around Vbull, Plus add RSS from the auction houses for use by his company and vendors.

He's from India; so all he cares about is cricket? Have you ever watched cricket? Boring! Anyway, I'm drifting.

THus, if you were recreating the CP, how many hours would you bid for Graphics, development, and launch??

What's "development and launch" include? Graphics and template work sounds like the only significant part. RSS is a no brainer.

That's gonna be a tough question since this place has grown so organically. There was never a time where there was a finite beginning and end to the work that goes on around here. Kyle might be able to give you a general estimate, but it really just depends on how much you want to put into it.

Your question, to some extent, is comparable to someone asking "How much would you charge to build a web site?" The answer really depends on a ton of different factors.

Are you -only- doing the forum? If you're going to be doing programming outside of HTML/RSS stuff, that changes stuff. But if you're just installing pre-made forum software, creating a template, and designing minor graphics, that's pretty basic.

Ask your India friend if Hog Farmer can post there. I'm sick and tired of them answering the phone when I call in for tech support and I need to get something off my chest.

Ok, to simply INSTALL VB is super easy. Add RSS? no worries...

Make it look and feel unique, professional AND user friendly... not so easy. The hardest part (assuming no custom programming is needed) is to get the look and feel how you want it... and that takes time.

He needs to find himself a Phobia and I and I can be had for about $500 a year.
