Were there any OLB pass rushers in the draft?

Just wondering. Any of you hear of any 3rd round pass rushers doing anything impressive in camp and the first game?

Ehhh....I'm not to sure if Lawrence Sidbury could play OLB in the 3-4. He's a 4-3 DE for the Falcons.

Rush backers or DE rush guys are both tough to evaluate in their skills translating to the NFL and just tough to find at about any level. Who thought, for example that Jared Allen would be what he's become? That's a longshot that came in, obviously.

How about Dwight Freeney who was thought to be a late first rounder that Polian took at #13 in the first round. Polian goes back.....looks....throws.....and SCORES! Manny Lawson is another guy thought to be skilled at this discipline and yet, with the 9ers, he's been what? Average or non-impactful?

You just don't know about these types of guys.

Of course not.

That's the reason that drafting pass rushers is the only risky pick in drafts.

so drafting a QB isn't risky? That's bitten a lot of teams in the ass. So basically our saying that other positions are more worth the risk than a pass rusher?

There was a hint of sarcasm in that post.

Sarcasm meter.

Own one.

Sidbury could definitely play OLB in a 3-4. I'm still stunned we took Washington over him. He's fast as hell around the edge, he's got long arms, and he's agile enough to cover the flats.

Brandon Williams also went in the 4th and is playing OLB for Dallas.

How about Sintim for the NYG? I don't think he was available in the 3rd though.
