We picked the worst time
to NOT be mediocre. This whole division has been bad since we got bad, so if we would have just been content with being mediocre like we always were, we'd probably would have won this division the past 2 years and this year. I dont know about you guys, but I miss the 8-8, 9-7 days. Atleast we were competitive, every game meant something, there were big games to look forward to, Arrowhead was still rockin, shit was still exciting, we weren't the laughing stock of the whole league, and we could beat the Raiders at home. We just had to become awful at the worst time, we cant do shit right.

Jesus Christ....you actually like being mediocre?
I will go through 3-4 years of being shitty...if that means that we can actually win a playoff game and possibly win the Super Bowl. |

Someone needs to photoshop Pioli's goofy dome on the victor, though. |
Listen I dont want to be mediocre forever either, All Im sayin is if we would have just been our regular mediocre Chiefs like we were forever, we would have won the division the past 2 years and possibly this year. Why do you always have to be god awful first to be a super bowl team? Why cant you be mediocre first and then great?

As I just said in another thread, you want a long-range plan to build a juggernaut, not a flash-in-the-pan like the '02 Bucs and Raiders. Pioli could've kept Tony G and made some other moves (e.g. vet QB, big-name FA) to make this a .500 season and make Pioli look good. Of course, it probably would've just delayed the rebuilding of the organization by a season or two.
