Jim Zorn met with Redskins vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato following Sunday’s 14-6 loss to the Chiefs, and management decided that the coach would no longer handle offensive play-calling duties, according to a team source.
A final decision on who will handle that role hasn’t been made. However, it’s widely expected that Sherman Lewis, an offensive consultant hired just two weeks ago, will take over because he’s the only other staff member who has called plays and is well versed in the West Coast offense.
Zorn remains the Redskins’ coach — at least for now — and also had been serving as, in essence, the team’s QBs coach, offensive coordinator and play-caller.

LOL Stupid Zorn....

I'm thinking after the Eagles game, when Washington goes to their bye week, is when Zorn will get shit-canned.

HC, OC, AND QB coach? Preposterous! No GM or owner would allow that! ;)

Jim Zorn's, playcalling may or may not be, a problem.

But it won't matter who's calling plays when you have a bad QB.

I'll take over play-calling. I've been learning from the best over the past few years. RRPP every drive. It's easy!

True, but there was that one time where, I think he went for it or something, a 4th down, where they could had kicked a field goal.

I just couldn't remember the whole thing. I guess I'll have to look it up again...

Wasn't that us?

I've seen a coach strip the playcalling duties from a coordinator. Never seen management do it to a coach. That's a kick in the nuts. Just man up and tell the guy, "Look, you're out after next week's game."

Coach 10-18-2009 07:36 PM

Let's see here. Zorn tried to challenge a play under the 2 minute warning. You can't challenge it, because it's a unchallangeable play for the coaches. Only the booth can review it.

AndChiefs, you're probably right. Haley went for it, but failed, which Succop could had made the FG. Wasn't impossible, but not easy. I remember it now. My bad.

Still though, the playcalling was crap. Both sides that is.

Sneak preview on Washington's bye week.

Zorn on his way to Dan Snyder's office.

Haley addressed that in his presser. Succop was having issues making those in pregames, so he didn't want to take a chance. Looks like a good call imo.

Yeah, I haven't read that until you mentioned it. I can understand that. Didn't think it was "that" windy, and seemed like Succop was making them just fine.

Either way, the Chiefs won, I'm not going to hash everything. I'm just finally ****ing happy to get a ****ing win that they ****ing needed it.
