Simplicity Vacuums = Awesome
I realize that vacuums are not a huge topic of concern with folks on this site, but after doing quite a bit of research (and testing), Simplicity Vacs are incredible.
We needed a new vacuum as our old Hoover finally died. The Kirby guy came by the house and demoed his product and we finally got him down to $1250 bucks, including a "trade-in." We tried out the Dyson Animal and it was pretty good as well, and much less than $1250. While getting something else repaired, we stopped by the tiny local vacuum store downtown and chatted with the guy. He showed us the Simplicity line. The top-end Simplicity blew (or sucked?) all the others away. It had around twice as much power as the Dyson or even the Kirby. It was on sale for $299 (or $399, I honestly can't remember) and was made almost entirely of metal (stainless steel parts, etc. Very little plastic at all). Even better, these things are all made in St. James, MO. I doubt any of you need a new vacuum, but this thing would certainly be worth a look. Here is their website: http://www.simplicityvac.com/ |
Anyone who pays roughly $1300 for a vaccuum cleaner is a ****ing dumbass.

the one thing i hate the most about vacuums in dragging the cord around all time.
I wish they made big powerful cordless vacuum cleaners that you could take all over the house and never have to worry about sucking up the cord in the machine and plugging, unplugging etc etc |
It'll make a great Christmas present for your wife!

If I'm paying $1200 for a vacuum cleaner it better come with a mouth attachment.

Nice. You bought a quality product that you like, it's made in the USA and you purchased it through a small local business. The kind of story I love to hear - a win/win/win.
I have a Riccar, which apparently is made by the same people with a different label. Best vacuum we've owned, and that's important to us since we have a couple of dogs. Never clogs the way the bagless models do. And we also bought ours through a small local vacuum repair/sales shop. http://www.riccar.com/index.asp |

Hey, if it's your vacuum, you can do whatever you want with the attachments. |
I bought a Dyson. Best vacuum I've ever owned.

The wife and I actually just got a Kirby. Comes with a shampooer as well.

I prefer not to vacuum...

Which model did you buy?? I looked and they were mostly over 1000 bucks

I tried selling those ****ing kirbys for 6 weeks one winter... made 50 cents a day, when i did the math... what an evil ****in' company that is. Don't buy kirbys, even if they are technically amazing ****ing machines....
