Personally, I'd like to see us take a flier in the guy with one of our 2nd's.

It depends on how much he weighs in at the Combine. Supposedly the coaches at the combine told him they'd like to see him around 350lbs. If he comes into the combine near that weight it would indicate he's serious and can control his weight. If he shows up the same size at the Senior Bowl it's a red flag and you have to wonder if his weight will balloon out of control in the NFL.

Who gives a **** how much he weighs? The Chiefs better draft him in the 2nd round.

Good point. 350 may be a stretch in that time period, but I'd definitely like to see him close to it.

He's definitely a guy that could eat himself out of the league, which is just pathetic to me. And I'm a fat guy myself.

I remember all the talk about Gilbert Brown's work ethic.

That's why BK honored him.

salame 02-24-2010 02:33 PM

yes I want him in the 2nd

Mr. Flopnuts 02-24-2010 02:35 PM

It's not normal for me to want to take a "flier" on anyone in the 2nd round. It's not good business. But risk vs. reward with this guy makes me think the upside is worth the risk. If he comes in and gets hungry (pun intended) he's a top ten talent IMO.

Mr. Laz 02-24-2010 02:38 PM

sure ... in the 2nd round, preferably 2b

chiefscafan 02-24-2010 02:41 PM

As a bama fan we'd be crazy to pass on him with either 2nd rounder. The man is dominant takes up blocks and is a gamer just watch the TEN game 2 block kicks. Yes the weight has allways scared me bout him but Gilbert brown was too. Then people say he can only play two downs. Who cares guys we will have teams third and long by then. Bring in Ron Edwards on third down and hopefully bring the pass rush.

First round no way 2 nd rdrs sure he is a big time player.

FWIW....I wouldn't bring in Edwards in a 3rd and long situation. I'd bring in a line that looks like this.

Hali - Jackson - Dorsey - Gilberry (as of right now)

chiefscafan 02-24-2010 02:49 PM

My dream would be for us to get McClain first Cody 2nd bama boys on my team all right :)

chiefscafan 02-24-2010 02:57 PM

Pest I didn't think of that I would screw up Os and like you said would switch into a 4-3 offenses wouldn't have right personel throw the line of Hali Jackson dorssey but I would put magee. LB??? Not sure hopefully we've drafted an ILB

Danman 02-24-2010 03:46 PM

definately if he's there when we pick - draft him

sfchief 02-24-2010 03:53 PM

hell no, If you watch the guy gets washed out half the time and has no pursuit even in a highlight tape. I think he will be 4 bills very soon and out of the league.

Fish 02-24-2010 04:37 PM

He arm tackles too much for a guy his size. Which he won't get away with at the next level. And he seems to give up on some plays. I'm a big Bama fan, but I'm not warming up to the thought of the Chiefs drafting him. Raji excited me more than Cody does.

It's pretty tough to project a big DLinemen's transition to the pros though. I think it would depend a lot on the stuff other than game tape. Most of which we never get to see. But you can't deny the value of a good NT.

Tough decision....
