Why not Brandon Marshall.

If you want a no brainer slam dunk 1st round talent, who better than Marshall? It's not like we dont have the cap room to sign him to a deal Denver couldn't match. All we would have to do is out bid Seattle. Like the Ravens did us for Boldin.

Yeah the #5 is a high pick that you dont want to give to a division rival. But they are likely to get it from somewhere else.

At least we know we wouldn't be "missing" on our 1st rounder for a change. That would be nice. Not to mention, you would get an immediate return on investment instead of the developmental cyrve we would have to go through with a rook.

Just a thought.

F all that.. dont want to give the Donkeys a top 5 pick.. maybe if we could trade down and then trade our 1st round pick.. either way i think we need our first pick to fill other holes on the squad

I think he has proven to be enough of a head case that there is no way our coaching staff touches him, and only a team that believes they are a WR short would.

I'm a big fan of Marshall. Special talent.

That said, no chance I'd trade #5 overall if Clausen and Berry are on the board. Would I rather take Marshall than Tyson Jackson (I or II)? Every single day.

But I'd rather draft Clausen, and package our high 2nd, plus Cassel to Denver for Marshall in return.

He is a head case.

Pass

You make a trade like this if you're needing that one player to take you over the hump to make your team a legit SB contender.

The Chiefs have way too many holes to be giving up prime draft picks. Maybe in a couple years I'd make a trade like this. But we need a player like safety Eric Berry. I thought we would do better in FA than what we've been doing. With Haley ties in ARZ, I would have thought we'd go after Dansby hard. Maybe he did, and just wanted to play in MIA instead I dunno.

But Marshall is worth a top 5 pick? Probably, he's a top WR in this league. Are we in a position to sacrafice the 5th overall pick......probably not.

Frazod 03-09-2010 09:10 AM

Send the No. 5 overall pick to the ****ing Broncos? Are you insane? :spock:

OnTheWarpath15 03-09-2010 09:13 AM

Why not?

Because this organization values nice guys with marginal talent over talented guys that aren't boy scouts.

I wouldn't trade our 1st round pick for him, but I'd definitely package Cassel and a pick for him.

Eh, what am I thinking? We have Chris Chambers. We're set at WR.

I would  the move... great strategery. Think about it, you're getting a much better version of Bitter Kennison!

crazy talk.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-09-2010 09:38 AM

I would love Marshall. Is it possible to sign him to a poison pill offer sheet after the draft is over?

wazimo 03-09-2010 09:43 AM

What about switching 1st rounders and also send one of our 2nd rounders for Marshall
