This entire draft other than Berry and Arenas is about making Cassel look like he wasn't a bad decision...

2 guys were drafted that are basically designed to run little checkoff routes.

I'm not going to go there. I've been with this team through a whole lot of bad. Pioli gave his boy all he needs to be successful. I look for Dorsey to move to NT, and Mcgee to move into the LDE position. Berry is a huge upgrade at Saftey. Two picks left tomorrow, not sure how they can be used to help the team this year. Hope we don't trade for anything more and keep our picks next year.

Cassel needs to step up and show he is what all the pundits said he was last year... which was a top 10 QB. God knows the defense suffered in this defense heavy draft... in order to give Cassel what he needs.

So, at the end of the day, Matt Cassel has to perform next year to be considered for the long term future of the franchise? Hell, he could have told you that before the draft.

Not exactly, but close. This was a defense heavy draft. We were forced into a 3-4 defense last season without the pieces in place. We could have filled many of those pieces last night and today. We started very nicely last night.

BUT, at the end of this year, Cassel has a clause in his contract that basically lets us walk away if he isn't the answer. Looks like we are going to have an answer to that question if nothing else this season.

I love chasing bad decisions.

I'm not saying these are all bad decisions. Hell, they all could be great players. I hope they are.

Just sayin' though... Cassel will have no excuses come January.
