Update on Danario Alexander

http://www.columbiatribune.com/weblo...-go-undrafted/

UPDATE, 10 p.m.: Undrafted Missouri receiver Danario Alexander sent me this text message Saturday evening, a few hours after the conclusion of the NFL draft: "We are still talking to teams trying to find the best situation for me. Whoever we decide on will be getting a player that will add great value to their team, that's for sure."

Alexander and his representation are likely fielding offers between teams that are willing to sign him with the hope that he'll pass a physical by the start of training camp. Having undergone four surgeries on his left knee since the winter of 2008, including the latest in February, it's also likely that some teams took him off their draft board altogether, knowing he wouldn't pass the initial physical.

Even as a KSU fan, I can't wish him anything but the best. Would love for the Chiefs to give him a shot. If he gets cut, so be it. I just hope he gets a chance.

I know it's hard to believe but Danario beat out Jeremy Maclin in 2007 before he got hurt. The guy obviously has some talent...I'd love for the Chiefs to give him a chance.

This. Surely you could struture it where your not out any money if the knee doesn't work out? and Danario has to realize thats the reality. If the knee hold up you can get paid.

Having undergone four surgeries on his left knee since the winter of 2008

how serious was each surgery? If they were all major surgeries then he is most likely done, if only one or two were major then he might still have something left to offer a team, I just don't see the chiefs signing him

I'd pay him $100,000 to $300,000 in bonus money. If we'd have traded back into the 7th and taken him, you wouldn't have to but now he's in control of who takes him.

Give him an incentive laden contract and get him in with our training staff and doctors, give him a playbook and have him start watching gamefilm every day.

Seeing as how they didn't trade back into the 7th, I think its safe to say they could care less about getting him and given how Haley treated Franklin, I doubt he cares about playing for him.

Give him a shot. He's got to be better than Lance Long.

He's supposed to be ready by training camp time, but what team will sign him before that? He can't pass any physical at the moment.

People were saying this weekend that a few teams were willing to go ahead and sign him now. We will see if that is true.

Speaking of injured Mizzou players, what happened to Pig Brown? Is he still languishing on IR, or did he get whacked?
