Former Rams pick Claude Wroten has been reinstated by NFL

Former Rams defensive tackle Claude Wroten has been reinstated by the NFL following a suspension for violating the substance abuse policy, the league has confirmed to PFT.

Wroten, a third-round pick in 2006, was originally suspended by the NFL for a minimum of one year in August of 2008. The banishment wound up lasting almost two years.

News of Wroten's suspension being lifted was first reported by Josina Anderson of FOX31 in Denver earlier Monday. Wroten's agent says his client is free to sign with any team.

Wroten was hardly dominant during the brief time in the NFL when he wasn't getting in trouble, so it's hard to imagine him inspiring much interest. Wroten played for Jim Haslett in St. Louis, so the Redskins are about as likely as any team to kick his tires.

Hes only 6'2" and 295lbs. He could add some weight, but the key here is he played for LSU. He would fit in with Dorsey and Jackson perfect... plus the whole underachieving thing also.

True, but he's not a "high character" guy.

I want a 295 pound nose tackle about as much as I want Steve Bono as a QB.

I'm a huge fan of underachieving, non-dominant DLine players.

Id rather send a scout to Japan and scout a damn Sumo wrestler. Seems their job is about the same as a NTs

fits the profile might as well go for the LSU trifecta of shit on our d-line. Throw him 30 million guaranteed like the other two garbage guys while you're at it.

Isn't it ironic, we will draft a high round DL year in and year out to find a can't miss DLman, yet we won't take a QB ever since Blackleadge? We have busted on more DL than most teams yet we keep doing it. We havn't drafted a QB in the first two rounds since Matt Blunden in 92. I just noticed this as a pattern. Draft DL first round, rehash QB from other team, history repeats itself. If/when Matt Cassell, Tyson Jackson fail, what are we to do when we get new coaching staff in 2012?
