4th week bye, momentum killer or useful pause?

I'm of the belief that the building momentum the Chiefs are creating is not helped by such an early bye week. Especially for a winning and relatively healthy team.

Thoughts?

Imo it should be a benefit to have an extra week to gameplan against Peyton Manning.

I think it is a neg for the players, but a pos for the coaches.

Net result = neutral.

I would think it was a negative under most circumstances. One could argue that it does give an extra week to prepare against a tough opponent on the road....but I tend to think it is a momentum killer.

Hopefully we make use of the extra week...

I never liked having a bye week this early, but maybe it'll work in our favor and let us get ready for Indy.Fugg I don't know,I'm just glad to be 3-0 and rolling!

Unless injuries, it sucks. Oh unless you are a charger.....

Exactly. When your bye comes the week before the toughest matchup of the year, you've got to be happy.

I think the game planning aspect is more important than any killed momentum... OTOH, I guess a slow start could be partly blamed on the bye, and that would be very bad.

It irritates me when you say "fugg." Just come up with a more intelligent word...FFS.

Like he fuggin' cares.

I think it's good. We re 3-0 after some ugly games and I don't think anyone saw us here. Now we have a chance to absorb it, look at what we are doing and get re-focused. TJ gets time to heal and so does Arenas.

I think with all the rookies we are playing it is good because it gives them a chance to do a "week in review" to get ready for the stretch.

It doesn't really matter. You just play the way it is scheduled. Non issue if you ask me.

DTLB58 09-26-2010 05:54 PM

Can't do anything about it, so there's no sense in wasting time complaining about it.

Time to coach 'em up to get ready to upset them Colts!

Shock the world!

Momentum killer!? We're 3-0 heading into the bye week. If we were 0-3 heading into the bye week, it'd be a frustrating two weeks. Fortunately, that isn't the case.

This is by far a useful pause, especially as a couple mentioned, it gives them time to prepare for week five against one of the best NFL teams we've seen the past few years.
