The eye in the sky doesn't lie.

Cameras caught Chiefs defensive lineman Shaun Smith grabbing 49ers tackle Anthony Davis' nether regions last Sunday, and the NFL has responded.

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports Smith will pay $10,000 for the infraction. Smith was accused of similar genital grabbing the week before, but avoided punishment there.

If Smith wants to keep up his hit streak this week, he'll have to do it in practice. The Chiefs are on a bye.

Dang. Junk grabbing is expensive.

So the NFL gets the cash and the poor guy with the swollen nuts gets an ice pack. Doesn't seem fair, somehow.

Brodie Croyle was on the Dan Patrick show this morning and of course they brought up Shaun Smith.

They called him "Sascrotch" ROFL.

Was there actually any "evidence" to prove this? I know there was one by Clay, but nowhere on that film clearly showed him cupping it or grabbing the business.

I wondered the same. Sure, it was pretty clear to know when he did it, and the reaction fit the accusation, but a pretty stiff fine for not even being able to see what happened clearly. I'm sure (and other players have mentioned) that it is hardly the first time things like this happens in a pile. Smith has just had the spotlight on him because it all went public and the media ran with it.

If it is legal to pull the long hair of a player because it is part of the uniform, why are the other dangly parts off limits? I was just curious what the NFL has determined the difference to be.

It's horseshit. No evidence...the video is inconclusive.

Pioli will play Santa, give Smith a bonus equal to the sum of the fine(s), and tell Shaun that he needn't reach in the bag for any more presents.

10k is kind of a kick in the nuts.
