Chiefs Drafts. In the interest of full disclosure.
Was a little bored so I explored my responses to past drafts we've had in real time to see how right/wrong I was.
Turns out, of course, it was a mixed bag. How was everybody elses? Green for I liked at the time, red for disliked at the time, yellow for "eh" at the time. I left it black if I don't remember. 2010 1st: Berry 2nd: McCluster 2nd: Arenas 3rd: Asamoah 3rd: Moeaki 5th: Lewis 5th: Sheffield 2009 1st: Jackson 3rd: Magee 4th: Washington 5th: Brown 6th: Lawrence 7th: Williams 7th: O'Connell 7th: Succop 2008 1st: Dorsey 1st: Albert 2nd: Flowers 3rd: Charles 3rd: Cottam 3rd: Morgan 4th: Franklin 5th: Carr 6th: Richardson 6th: Robinson 7th: Johnston 7th: Merritt 2007 1st: Bowe 2nd: McBride 3rd: Tyler 5th: Smith 5th: Medlock 6th: Taylor 7th: Allan 2006 1st: Hali 2nd: Pollard 3rd: Croyle 5th: Maxey 6th: Stallings 6th: Webb 7th: Page |
2010 = JIMP
2009 = awful 2008 = JIMP 2007 = awful 2006 = 1 step above awful |
You liked Ty Jack when it happened?

You liked the majority of our 2009 draft? That was one of the low points in franchise history. A major setback, even though we are playing well this year. We're doing it without the help of anyone from that draft except Succop. Maybe Jackson has been decent on a few series, but no where near enough to justify the pick, and he probably never will play at that level.

T. Jax was a great 3-4 end prospect. I loved Magee but I don't think I really understood the 3-4 a lot back then, because Magee was not a good fit for the 3-4 end position. I don't know why I thought he was. Washington had the look of a diamond in the rough. Guy is a stellar athlete, but he just doesn't know where he is on the field, it seems. Lawrence and Williams were just impressive athletes from smaller schools. But yeah... Colin Brown and trading up for O'Connell were strange moves to me. |
