Cassel is gone. How do you NOW feel about him?
 

I realized tonight that I really don't have any hard feelings about Matt Cassel. In some ways, I actually have a positive perception of him because he managed to get better throughout the season. While I will not forever despise Cassel, I kind of feel sorry for Cassel now that he's had an appendectomy at a "turning point" in his career.

I think he made some really (and I mean REALLY) stupid decisions early this season and all of last season, but I don't completely discount the remote possibility that he could end up being a solid game managing QB here at some point in his career.

So, how do you feel? Related poll to follow...

An appendectomy is a pretty routine procedure these days. You act like he had his legs removed and his career is over.

Even if Croyle comes in and plays well I think it is still a missed opportunity for Matty to grow and learn. If he is the one that is gonna be our QB next season ,this is a pretty important game for him to miss..I feel bad for him.

Cassel won't be the same QB after this. He'll always favor that hole where his appendix used to be.

Anyone who voted for the top thing that they're happy about this is a ****ing idiot.

The 3rd one is filled with idiots too. Anyone who thinks it 'wont make a difference' is fooling themselves....This was a real opportunity for Matt to grow and learn....

I'll give those people the benefit of the doubt and just assume they're being extremely overly optimistic. But saying 'it's about damn time' is ****ing reeruned.

I guess what I mean is I am thinking more along the lines of long term (next season) and the overall progression of Cassel as a QB...one game doesnt make THAT much difference but this is probably the Most important game so far in the season...

This really hurts IMO.

Well, it's not an opportunity when there is none this weekend. The coaches and players always prepare for the worst; this, however, isn't. Besides, car sales need a boost in these parts.
