The Internet and Memory Retrieval

How much time will you take trying to retrieve a piece of information from memory before Googling it? I was trying to recall the name of a TV show today and I lasted about a minute before I gave up and Googled it. The more I thought about it, the more it bothered me.

10 to 15 seconds.

I have become very google dependant. It has become a crutch much like my nicotine addiction and my addiction to Asian hookers.

Depends if its a good porn or not i'll usually watch the first 15 seconds then decide if I want to continue watching it or not.

Tales of The Crypt. I was trying to recall it because I remembered an episode where Patricia Arquette is inside a barn wearing a loose tank top with no bra.

We dont need memory anymore....we have Google.

I was the same way about programming phone numbers into my telephone for a long time. Even if I had it programmed in, I'd dial it manually just so to keep that one teeny-tiny portion of my memory sharp.

Now where did my pants go?
