Matt Flynn

Mofo played like a seasoned playmaking vet QB tonight against a hot Pats team in their house. Too bad he is not our b/u. Croyle will not do and surely Pioli is making plans for a better b/u for next yr. Flynn will be somebody's stud starter in the future for sure. Guy was very poised for very little playing experience. Impressive:thumb:

Flynn is a stud. Funny we drafted Brohm like 5 rounds ahead of him and then cut Brohm anyways the next year.

KurtCobain 12-20-2010 01:54 AM

Yeah, the Brohm thing is funny.

That offense is setup for qb success he might not be as good on another team. But as for the game against the pats , kudos to him

RealSNR 12-20-2010 02:08 AM

He reminds me a lot of Mark Brunell and not just because he's a backup for the Packers

Packer backups have always done well around the league. Flynn is another product.

Whatever the Packers do to coach up QBs I'm surprised other teams haven't discovered the secret to their success and at least tried to mimic or duplicate it.

Really? I didn't get that at all.

A few people suggested that the Chiefs should trade for him, back when Cassel was still having difficulties. I still can't believe that JaMarcus was #1 overall and this guy was a 7th round pick.

Scouts and GM's are ****ing dumb, clueless, overpaid ****s.

salame 12-20-2010 02:15 AM

remember when Brohm was supposed to a first round pick

In college he split time with an average at best QB. He was an average college QB who's played 1 good game he certainly was shit vs the Lions.

Beginners luck?

salame 12-20-2010 03:03 AM

he is the new Matt Cassel

It certainly helped. Pats had no film on him, probably underestimated him, bit of a trap game being at home and knowing Rodgers was out and they'd just secured a playoff spot, plus the Pats defense--while playing well in recent weeks--still isn't the '85 Bears. But, having said all that, you have to give the kid his props. He played an excellent game, given the circumstances, for around 58 minutes. (Not that I blame the horrid time management at the end solely on him; his coaches have to know, being a rookie, that he needs to be told exactly what to do in that situation.)

To be fair, Russel was an amazing prospect and had a ceiling Flynn could only dream of having. Going to Oakland and purp drank took care of that shit though.

Another thing to keep in mind is the Packers have a really good set of receivers in the passing game.

Well I guess it's good for him that he didn't get drafted by one of those teams that doesn't set it's offense up for QB success.:shake:
