No Luck for Carolina

Andrew Luck decides to stay at Stanford for one more year. It's probably a wise decision unless there is a rookie salary cap coming.

Terrible decision, IMO, but I wish the kid much luck.

Harbaugh??

Was the title of this thread intended to be a joke? Because that's how I took it.

The Bad Guy 01-06-2011 01:47 PM

It's such an insanely stupid decision I can't even believe it.

After a new CBA is in place, the rookies are going to have a salary scale.

It hardly ever works out for the player either. Locker, Leinart just 2 players that should have come out as juniors.

Ebolapox 01-06-2011 01:47 PM

good for him.

-King- 01-06-2011 01:48 PM

I don't understand why a guaranteed #1 pick would not come out. Did he not just see what happened with Locker?

He avoids going to Carolina

DeezNutz 01-06-2011 01:48 PM

Oh, and the rest of the QBs in this year's draft just did a happy dance.

58-4ever 01-06-2011 01:48 PM

No it's not intended to be a joke. I think he wins because he obviously loves where he is. Bradford set the precedent that you could get hurt and still go number one.

Ebolapox 01-06-2011 01:49 PM

maybe he'll fall to us in the draft next year then :p

patteeu 01-06-2011 01:49 PM

I thought Stanford athletes were supposed to be smart. This guy is no Kevin Curtis.

Basileus777 01-06-2011 01:50 PM

He's not risking Bradford money or anything, the first overall pick isn't getting that kind of crazy guaranteed money anymore.

The general consesus seems to be that the scale will effect this rookie class too, even if it's because teams don't sign there draft picks until the rookie scale in place.

Woe is Carolina. Back to the drawing board. RT @GusRamsey: andrew luck is returning to Stanford!
