Can you send text messages from a landline phone number?

I've been getting some prank texts of someone telling me to lookout behind me and tick tock and them telling me they will be asking all the questions.

Anyways, I did a reverse lookup and everything says the number is a landline number. Is that possible?

Maybe you should call them and ask them wtf is up.

Phobia 03-07-2011 11:55 PM

Yes, it is possible. Look out behind you.

Idk there might be an android/iphone app... I have one on my droid called PrankDial, and It uses recorded conversations to prank people, and when you do it you pick the number that shows up on their phone....area code and everything

I tried. Went to voicemail which was just the standard voice message with a phone number.

White Pages offers a $2 thing where they will text you the name of the person, but Verizon doesn't support it so I can't get the name.

Likely, the reason that when you do a reverse lookup and it shows as a landline is because that person texting you ported their landline number to a mobile phone.

Well according to the little map on the reverse lookup website, the arrow is pointing awfully close to one of my friends houses. I'm assuming its him.

I'm not sure those arrows point to a house specifically... unless there is an address attached to it. And if it does, how the **** do you not know you friends address??? Shit, at least the name of the street they live on.

There is no address attached, but the top map here is what the reverse lookup site shows and the bottom map is where my friend lives.

I'm curious. Do another reverse search with another phone number, preferably unlisted, and see if it shows a different area. I really don't think it is showing you a location... otherwise what is the point of being unlisted?

Or post the site you did the reverse search from and I'll do the legwork.

If not that is really odd that the address came up right there, 500 feet within my friends house.

I checked a random number and the map showed elsewhere so I don't know.

Hey, Buck.

Look out behind you buddy.

Tick tock tick tock.

Stop looking for the answers. I'll ask the questions.

Tick tock tick tock.

See you around.

Nope... just coincidence. I just did a search for my mobile number. It had me in Mulvane, KS, a city 20 miles away.

To be sure, I did a search for a business landline number I know to be unlisted. The result was 10 miles off.

Lastly, I did a search for a relative's unlisted number. Result was completely across town.

Buck 03-08-2011 12:31 AM

Did the results say Unpublished or Success Weve Found it!?
