Does Anyone Mod Their Smartphone
I have owned the Samsung Vibrant since the day of release, a little over a year ago. It gets a little buggy every now and then so I reboot to manufacturer's specs and then download my apps from my backup (takes about 10 minutes) and I get stellar speed and GPS lock afterward for about 5-7 months. Then I have to start the cycle again.
I am wondering if anyone has modded an android smartphone? I update my G1 from Donut to Eclair with Cyanogen and had no problems. I want to update my Vibrant from Froyo to Gingerbread but I understand there is still a problem with the GPS (which I use a lot). Has anyone here upgraded to Gingerbread? Positives... Negatives? |
I'm running gingerbread on my Evo right now. I've gone through about 8 different Roms now and am currently using one called Synergy which runs 2.3.3.
I've only been running this particular rom for 48 hours and finally have it set to where I am comfortable with it. I'll run it for a few weeks until the next big development or until I get bored and want something to play with. The only problem I have had with the GPS is that my weather app tells me I'm in a neighboring city. I'm going to play with the navigation over the next few days. |
I really need my gps. I was thnking I should wait for something more stable. Where did you get yours?
