Yes I fell

Damn I was on the wagon for 2 years.

I failed tonight.

Its disgusting but I have excuses. I found out yesterday I have cancer.

Yeah good bye ball.

My mom has leukemia.

Just trying to hold on.

Sorry Red.

Venting more than I should.

NewChief 09-03-2011 05:12 AM

Dude. Even without the circumstances you described, relapses are a part of recovery and completely understandable. Don't beat yourself up about it, because that will just lead to further triggers.

Sorry to hear about your own cancer and your mom's.

MadMax 09-03-2011 05:12 AM

Very sorry to hear that !!! :( I have liver cancer...No fun

Vent away Smed , life is not kind

I think it's outstanding that you made it two years! That's a good job dude; now dust yourself off and get back on the wagon. :thumb:

Stay strong cancer is bad but if you let your demon overcome you then you'll never overcome cancer. Cancer tough but you can beat it. Use the fight to stay sober in fighting cancer and you'll win. God bless you and stay strong.

Don't look back...give yourself permission to forgive and look ahead.

griZZly64 09-03-2011 06:07 AM

why would you want to be on the wagon anyways?

BigRedChief 09-03-2011 06:11 AM

Smed, Sorry to hear the news. Going to be some tough times but a lot of people beat the Big C. Hang in there and vent all you want.

My Mom has Allzheimers so I get to slowly watch her lose her mind and forget who we are. Not a pleasant situation. Watching your Mom battling Leukiema ain't going to be any fun either. It is what it is.

Just get back on that wagon. Falling off is a helluva lot better than staying off the wagon. Mistakes happen. Learn from it and move on.

N00b, threads like this are not for jokes and ribbing of the poster. You shouldn't have to be tols that.:shake:

Smed, yesterday is yesterday. Today is a new day! Just make good choices today and you'll be right where you need to be.

My prayers and thoughts are with you (and you too MadMax) for a full recovery for you and for your mom.

You can do this...

my post was neither. i've never understood being on the wagon for such a long time. is it that you can only drink in excess?

griZZly64 09-03-2011 06:31 AM

if anything i was trying to make him feel better by making it not seem like that big of a deal.. cuz its not.

Simply Red 09-03-2011 06:44 AM

Dude, Honestly I didn't know what you were getting at in the PM - No apology necessary. I don't know what to say, that's awful. Drinking can be really really bad for MANY people, myself included.

You can PM me anytime & sure we can meet up sometime, Brent.
