Primus Fan? Feast on some Green Naugahyde

Any Primus fans out there?

The album is quite funky. I just got a hold of it today and I'm impressed. Les Claypool has to be the best Bass player I've ever heard. The new drummer mixes well with Larry and Les's style.

Digest these few tracks I found on youtube

Bought it on iTunes and I'm still listening to it. There are a couple of songs I like- Lee Van Cleef & Hoinfodaman, but I'm not in love with either of them. The rest seem... Meh- to me. They it's a grower, so I'll keep trying. A couple of the songs a LOT like other Primus songs that I like better. But who knows... I loved anti-pop a couple years after hating it. So maybe there's hope.

Just saw them last week. They played 2 sets, the first set was old Primus. While the second set was GN in it's entirety. I would've liked them to maybe split the new album in to both sets interspersed with old material. Still a great show. Saw them in 93 at Lollapalooza in Iowa, was really great show till some jackoff in the crowd threw a pig leg or some other animal part and hit Les while he was playing 'Thieves' by Ministry.

I saw Primus during the AntiPop tour, and some idiot was throwing crap at Les in that show too, but Les made into something hilarious. He said something to the effect of, "There's a lot of bastards here in Fresno, ain't there?" And then went in to the song Here Come the Bastards. It was a great show, but unfortunately a horrendous mix by the sound guy.

How did the new stuff translate live? Did any of the new songs seem like could become fan favorites when mixed with their older material?

One thing I like about GN is Les' vocal style. He seems to be using a lot more of that lower register tone which sounds better to me than his squawking higher pitched carnival tone.

I like a lot about this song, but the vocal melody during the hook of this song sounds almost exactly like the one from the Ballad of Bodacious. It kind of ruins it for me.

"Everything's made in China" LMAO
