A new CBA is close to getting done...

it really is...

But I'm not happy because it looks like bad news for the Royals as it would be harder for them to stock their farm system.

Yeah, unless there is an actual salary cap, the smaller markets should tell them to eat a dick.. Or, how about they move all the big market teams to one division in each conference.. That way the dicks can beat up on each other while outspending most teams by a 100m..

Also, need a salary floor.. This is including your draft picks, even in the minors.. This way lower teams can still get players..

Same here.

Didn't baseball pay attention to the playoffs? When you get two evenly matched teams playing each other and slugging it out it makes the game more exciting.

But, to fight for a salary cap now would cost baseball a season and hurt the game tremendously. Just not doable.

You start some really shitty threads.

Frankly the only way to get small markets viable in baseball is more local revenue sharing and a minimum team salary limit for the players to approve. I think even then the players vote against it as it inhibits higher salaries. Most players will see a pay bump as there is more money for the lower franchises who now have to have at least a certain payroll.
