Jared Gaither

Are you ****ing kidding me? Are you guys watching this right now? He's playing better than I've ever seen Richardson play. He's having a great game. There is no way in hell that he doesn't have a place on our starting line.

How can they **** this up? Haley & Pioli: **** YOU.

Thought this would make me feel a little better.....but it doesn't.

I can't believe they cut this guy. WTF were they thinking?

Not the right 53!

Maybe getting fired lit a fire under the ass? Sometimes that happens.

Okie_Apparition 12-05-2011 08:10 PM

He's closer to a first round pick than Gabbert

We picked up Orton on waivers, which means we had to get rid of a player on the roster. Gaither didn't do shit for us, so he was the odd man out. He was also only on a one year deal which might have played into the decision, as well.

Dude is playing lights out. Just like he did eat and every time he stepped on the field for the Chiefs. Cutting Gaither was a ****ing reeruned move and I called it at the time, that he was completely healthy. **** Bill Muir. Dude can't assess OL talent or Coach it for his life.

Quote:

Muir talked about the decision to release OT Jared Gaither, which came out of the blue earlier this week.

"I think basically the situation was pretty clear cut," Muir said. "Even though technically he was 100 percent healthy, I guess technically, physically I didn't see that as the offensive line coach/coordinator. I didn't see the physicalness or the explosiveness he had when he played at Batlimore."

Interesting. The Star reported previously that Gaither said he was healthy, and now the Chiefs say he was "technically" healthy, so maybe there are varying interpretations of exactly what healthy is.

Anyway, Muir went on to indicate that what Gaither lacked physically and explosively wasn't the sole determining factor in his release.

"But there were other circumstances involved in it as you manage your roster at this time of year," Muir said. "So it wasn't all about, 'Can he play?', 'Can't he play?' or 'Who's better?', it was a tactical decision we made."

Sounds like the Chiefs are saying it was a bigger priority to get David Mims some active roster time (with five games remaining which means this isn't an accrued season) rather than keep Gaither in a reserve role.
Mims was a bigger priority? What about Maneri? Couldn't you cut his worthless ass? Nope, Muir has a hard-on for him b/c he's white.

I'm to the point where I want a coach/fo that doesn't play favorites. This is bullshit.

He didn't do shit for us b/c they didn't allow him to. He is a better LT than Albert, HANDS DOWN! Nobody got close to the QB when Gaither was blocking them, and he wasn't all that bad in the run game either.

Albert is a decent LT, but he would make a EXCELLENT LG, and his speed/athleticism would benefit our running game quit a bit with him pulling.

Having Gaither, Albert, Hudson, Asamoah, and a Player to be determined would have been AMAZING. Especially with the skill position players we already have. A QB and a stud RB to pair with Charles and we'd have been SET.
