Text of Todd Haley statement

The former Chiefs coach released a statement through his agent. It reads:
“First, I would like to thank Clark Hunt and the kansas city chiefs for giving me the opportunity to coach this historic franchise. Growing up in the NFL, watching my Dad help build those great Pittsburgh Steeler teams, I have a profound love for this league. This opportunity has been a dream come true.

I would like to sincerely thank my coaches and my players for their commitment and loyalty throughout my time with the chiefs.

I would like to thank all of the great chiefs fans. my wife chrissy and i would also like to thank the city of kansas city for welcoming us and our 5 children and making us feel at home.

I am proud to have been a part of continued improvement and the first afc west title since 2003. this year has been extremely challenging, but despite losing several key players to injury and free agency, we have been able to remain competitive and remain in contention with 3 games remaining in the season. i wish the coaches and players good luck down the stretch.

NFL football is extremely competitive. Being hired and fired is part of this business. i want to thank everyone for their support and i look forward to my next opportunity in this great league."

A shot at Pioli?

Pretty standard fare, public relations approved, nothing you wouldn't expect!

Dante84 12-12-2011 06:56 PM

No mention of Pioli

Dante84 12-12-2011 06:57 PM

What key player did we lose to FA?

We released Waters...

Funny he didn't thank Pioli and how he made a point about losing talent, and still being competitive. Also mentioning the AFC west title, as if to make a point. Well done sir.

"we have been able to remain competitive"

Dude has lost all sense of reality.

He mentions loosing players in FA... So he really wanted to keep Shaun Smith? Seems like a classy guy, when his emotions aren't getting the best of him. I think he will learn from this, and when he gets another opportunity to be a HC again he will excel. And I think we Chiefs fans will be kicking ourselves for letting him go.

But what about the children
Their dad was fired two weeks before Christmas
The horror of having to break into the savings account off shore

He left out the part about that cock suckin, fart licking, only the Gay Patriot way loving, Cassel reaming Pioli

Why would I be kicking myself for letting someone go that I had absolutely no hand in letting go?

I don't give a **** if he excels somewhere else. He wasn't doing jack shit here.

One day, Haley will be looked at as a great HC. Just not in KC unfortunately. That's my statement.

He didn't even get three full years and took us to the play-offs. I'm tired of starting over every 3-4 years. That's why we can't win, because we are changing scheme's all the time. Everytime you do that, most of the players on the team, don't fit. Its why teams like the Steelers and Patriots are so good, they don't change coaches.

He took us to the playoffs on a weak schedule and a legit OC running the offense. Get over it.
