Again, this is the same RIAA that has been shaking down a Minnesota mother of four for $1.5 million over 24 songs she shared on Kazaa. And it turns out, they're being generous in that case! Since the statutory damages cited by its own guidelines are much higher:

… copyright holders can sue you for up to $150,000 in statutory damages for each of their copyrighted works that you illegally copy or distribute.

So let's see, $150k per episode times 60 episodes comes out to roughly... $9,000,000, checks payable to CBS.

Look, the RIAA's method of "enforcing" copyright law by suing people to oblivion is unfair. But to layer hypocrisy on top of that unfairness is just gross. How about you get your own house in order before you target your next Minnesota mom?

I pirate stuff. A lot. However, when it comes to me and my brother, we pirate stuff we weren't gonna buy or rent in the first place, just to see if we like it. If we do like it, sometimes we actually buy the dvd or blu-ray...or game. That's a sale they wouldn't have had before. I'm sure others are the same way.

IT'S LIKE RAAAAAIN.

Seriously, this might impair their credibility just a smidge in future court proceedings.

Just find an internet site that streams TV shows and you won't have this problem.

Luckily I'm in a market where I get most Chiefs games and only stream maybe 3 a year. However the NFL should be cited for monopoly since the only option to get games not shown in your market is through Direct TV.

I also don't agree that a song older than 17 years old should get copyright protection. Most music I listen to is pre-90s and in the past would not have been covered.

If the Chiefs would ever NOT SUCK, we'd probably get all of the games.
