Teicher: Moeaki, Berry, Charles progressing nicely

Moeaki, Berry, Charles progressing nicely

The Chiefs played all season without tight end Tony Moeaki and almost all of it without safety Eric Berry and running back Jamaal Charles. Each tore ligaments in his knee and had the resulting surgery. Coach Romeo Crennel said the timetables for each of the players was encouraging. ''They are all making good progress,'' Crennel said. ''They are all rehabbing. I’ve been told they’re on schedule as far as their rehab goes. Whether that’s football-ready or not, I can’t say that right now.'' But Moeaki indicated all three players would be ready to participate when the Chiefs begin off-season practice in the spring and for the start of the regular season. ''We had our injuries one or two weeks apart but as far as the big picture, we’re on the same schedule,'' Moeaki said. The three players are doing their rehab together. Moeaki indicated their sessions occasionally become competitive. ''In exercise drills, I’ll try to sneak in an extra 10 pounds,'' Moeaki said. ''We’re all at pretty much the same level now. It’s been real nice working with them.''

Might have to sneak on some more weight, fellas. You'll be carrying Matt Cassel next season.

This is a different team with those guys.
+QB+C+RT+NT= "championship"

If there is a positive in these injuries, its that they occurred early in the season. Everyone should be 100% by pre-season.

Yeah, I like the idea of the 3 of them rehabbing together. Building chemistry and pushing each other.

Don't be suprised if Tony Moeakie gets hurt again. He's been broken since his Iowa days.

Yeah I think the Chiefs would be wise to hedge their bets and get a TE (draft or FA) they'd feel comfortable with if he was their long term starter.

If Tony stays healthy? Great. You have two quality TEs for when you run 2 TE sets. If he gets hurt, at least you're protected.

That would be perfect. Should have kept Cottam. He was good but of course our QBs were terrible...

This is great to hear along with Brandon Siler coming back for a year we just got tremendously stronger already without the draft, FA, or cutting the 7-8 pieces of dead wood on the roster!

My Top 5 wishes

-A great RT
-QBOTF
-FB/RB to compliment and help Charles
-Great FS
-One dynamic pass rusher to compliment Hali

You mean Leonard "holding penalty" Pope or Anthony "no block" Becht aren't our TE's of the future?

Someone said Cottam's injured neck never quite healed right. I don't know if that was speculation or something they saw reported. Otherwise, I agree. He was really coming on when he got hurt.

Cottam made Moeaki appear to be an iron man.

Yup. Never understood the Cottam hype.

However TE and RB are two positions in dire need of depth, and if either position were drafted in the 1st 3 rounds it would be a solid move IMO.

Even with Tony healthy, I think we should be looking for a "basketball" TE - the next Jimmy Graham.
