Stumpp's End of season Mock

First mock of a few. What I would like to happen. Yes, I know I can't spell.

Cut Cassle, Sign Orton.

1st: Ryan Tannehil - Has to improve his awareness and mechanics, I am not sold on him has a 1st round passer. BUT, his athletic ability is something to take into account, I really like his mobility. I think being able to run with the football is a great asset for a rookie QB, can help reduce turnovers.

2nd: Nate Potter - Boise ST - OT
Could be a very solid RT in the NFL. From what I saw from the few games, he doesn't have a dominate physical body type, but seems to be pretty fundamentaly sound.

3rd: Phillip Blake - Baylor - C
Big center, athletic for his size. His size will help against 3-4 NT's. Gives us a dominate OL for many years.

4th: Carmen Messina - New Mexico - ILB
Depth, will compete for a starting LB spot with JB.

5th: Eddie Whitley - VT - S
Depth. Better than McGraw, VERY athletic, at very least will be a good ST players.

6th: Marc Tyler - USC - RB
Big back, missed some games to injury this year. T. Jones should be gone, Battle doesn't have the burst to be a consistant backup RB.

7th: Kevin Koger - Mich. -TE
Steal at 7th round. Would be a top 4th round TE at a passing school IMO, Can catch as well, depth behind injury prone Moe.

Sign Carr, Bowe, Powe or someone else on roster emerges as a solid NT.

I'm on board.

But

With Tannehills busted up foot...you don't know what the extent of his injury is and how it will heal. NOW...I would call drafting him where we presently sit a reach.

ok, repeat after me, guys:

DominANT players dominATE the game.

If you DOMINATE your opponent, you could be called DOMINANT.

Fer f^cksake.

It isn't the worst. Check out the one titled, "Mock, with one crazy-ass assumption."...now THAT one sucks.

Mine all suck. This is well-documented.

If the game plan all long is to Draft Tannehill then there is no reason to sign Orton. Just keep Cassel and draft Tannehill. Cassel will know the offense better than Orton. They're both going to hopefully ride the bench at some point so why fork over the money for Orton and eat the cap hit for cutting Cassel?

What if they decide to let Tannehill sit for 3 years while Cassel plays out his contract?

Uh no, Cassle should never wear a Chiefs uniform again. Orton is a better QB, and should start next year at QB, and let Tanne sit and learn.

It would be the only way we draft a 1st round QB this year, so it's why I went that rout.

Orton will know the offense fine after an off-season, and there will be a new OC, so they will both be at the same level.

You fork over the money because Orton is better, and can win you a football game. Simple.

Your right, a possible QBOTF, with a dominant (:)) young OL, as well as a top 12 D.

How awful.

With a new OC who more than likely will be bringing his system, the argument that Cassel will know the system better is unfounded.

And cutting Cassel has no cap repercussion.
