That was Wes Bunting's take on the guy from yesterdays practice. Any Missou homers know anything about him?

Doesn't strike me as a true 5-tech.

I think he'd make a good NT in a 1-gap, 4-3 but I don't see him being an ideal fit for a 2-gap 3-4. I don't think he's squat/strong enough to fit as a 5-tech in our defense and he's not explosive enough to be an under-tackle in a 4-3. He's bigger than an under-tackle, smaller than a 5, slower than an under-tackle, more explosive than a 5.

In other words - he's a damn nice fit as a NT in a 4-3.

Then again, Bunting knows a shitload more about football than I do. That's just my take.

5-tech in a 3-4...not a 0. As ever, I'm a dumbass; just didn't engage my brain there.

Yeah, I could see him being a legitimate possibility as a 5-tech in a 2-gap defense. I wonder if he has quite enough length to truly be good at it, but he could probably be passable.

(I still think he's a better fit at the nose in a 4-3 though)
