Hollywood Casino.
Have any of you been yet?
Reviews? |
I went with my wife last Saturday afternoon, the day after it opened. I'd call it nice and modern, but I didn't see anything that really makes it different from Argosy or Harrah's.
The minimum bets for all table games was $10, which is a little high for my taste. The have a steakhouse there with steaks that cost $35 and $40, also a little more expensive than what I am willing to spend. But, for those of us that live on the Kansas side, it's best feature is location, location, location. |
I think I'm gonna check it out tonight.

I was there last Monday night for the soft openings and on Friday for the Grand Opening.
I know Monday night they had $5 FWIW, but I bet they raised it to $10 on the Opening Weekend just for the additional revenue. I am sure the strategy was that people that went last weekend were going to bet whether it was $5 or $10 minimum bets. As for the Casino itself, I am biased as I was the design structural engineer, but it is much closer to my house than any others so I am more apt to go there than any others in town. |
How does the dining stack up with those north of the river?

As far as HWC, if you like a variety of styles of beer, then you need to go into the mezzanine sports bar (up the escalator) as they have a much better selection than on the main level. |

It sucks when they don't play along.

If you park in the garage the 3rd level is the casino floor by the way. |
39 of us were at Legends last night eating at Backfire BBQ (not my choice) and about half wandered over. I heard the atmosphere was kind of off (depressing mood?) and lots of WT and tweakers running around.

usual mixture of low lifes, deadbeat dads and 70 year old chain smoking grandmas, typical for any Midwestern casino.
