Freeney Available

The Indianapolis Colts are fielding telephone calls from teams interested in trading for perennial Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney, according to league sources.

The Colts do not necessarily want to part ways with Freeney, but they need the salary-cap space and Freeney has a $19 million cap number this season and is unwilling to restructure his contract, according to sources.

The Colts are now open to trading Freeney but will only do it for what they consider the right price.

Freeney might not be the only Colt for sale. Tight end Dallas Clark ($8 million) and linebacker Gary Brackett ($7.4 million) also have high cap numbers.

Freeney has spent his entire 11-year career with the Colts and has been named to seven Pro Bowls. His 8½ sacks last season were second on the team. He is the Colts' all-time sacks leader with 102½.

Trade Jackson and a midround draft pick maybe?

Dayze 03-09-2012 09:53 AM

i don't think he'd fit in our 3-4

jackson would be a better fit that freeney.

"Hanford CA"?
I spent about 3 years in Lemoore/Hanford.

I've been here almost 3 years teaching and coaching basketball. Not a bad place.

No thanks, he is about done.

Dayze 03-09-2012 09:57 AM

yeah, I like Hanford and Visalia.

didn't care so much for Lemoore; wasn't bad. Just liked the others better.

Hot as a MF in summer though JFC.
but it's a 'dry heat' as the locals would tell me :D

He has maybe a good year or 2 left in him.

When the end comes in this league, it comes fast. That's why it's so critical to address this QB issue now; we have far less time with Hali than we think. We may see him start to stumble a bit as early as next season (though I think it's more likely to be 2013) and usually it's only another season or so before they smack right into that wall.

If we were a 4-3 team on turf, maybe kick those tires. 3-4 team on grass, no way...

What the **** is that team spending money on? They need cap relief after they dumped Manning? Christ.

mcaj22 03-09-2012 10:25 AM

This. Luck's going into a pretty shitty rebuilding process. He and Oliver might want to go the Eli route.

jwazzie 03-09-2012 10:27 AM

Give me Dallas Clark! That would be nice!
